Unit Overview

Civics and citizens and Interpersonal Development unit of work which focuses on respecting the rights of others to hold different values and attitudes from their own. Learning our school values and how we can apply what they mean in everything we do at school. Learning self-respect and the importance of understanding how our actions affect others. Understanding how we can make positive contributions to our local and school communities.

Key ConceptsRespecting the rights of others to hold different values and attitudes from their own. Enjoying a sense of belonging. Making decisions as an individual and as a group member. Making informed decisions and accepting responsibility for consequences resulting from ones actions. Using a range of problem-solving strategies to solve problems. Suggests, considers and selects appropriate alternatives when resolving problems. Describing how relationships with a range of people enhance wellbeing. Describing roles and responsibilities in developing and maintaining enhance wellbeing and positive relationships.
